UEFA Champions League is an annual high-level tournament for the cream of European football franchises. Since the season of ’92-’93, the regular season has traditionally started in September and concluded in May. In its early days in the 1950’s the league started with just 8 teams but has expanded over the decades to a beloved spectacle consisting of 32 teams. The driving force for the Champions League has been its goal to increase the number matches between the European top franchises.
Russian MatchTV broadcasts Champions League for free on a regular basis on gamedays. The matchups usually include a Russian team if they have games on. The commentary is in Russian (which of course doesn’t matter if it’s in your skill set), but the streaming quality is excellent and you don’t have to register to an account to watch the free CL broadcasts. HRT is the public broadcasting company of Croatia and they have rights to some Champions League games. The broadcasts, however, are somewhat irregular and the streaming service also requires you to sign up, so it isn’t our first option for watching CL.

German ZDF has rights to 18 UEFA Champions League matches per season. Their usual broadcasting day is on Wednesdays and matchups often include a German team. This means that you can spot many Bayern München or Borussia Dortmund games for free.

TF1 of Monaco has rights to some Champions League games. Their first choice for matchups is obviously the ones including AS Monaco, but they also often broadcast the big games between top teams. If you want access to the streams, you need to sign up for a personal account which might require you to know a few words in French (or just use the Google Translator).
